Attention Internet Customers:
Important Changes Needed in Your E-mail Setup
All Peachem DSL, CableNet, and dial-up Internet customers must change several settings in their e-mail software (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, Netscape, Mozilla) before January 23. It is VERY important that you complete this process before the January 23 deadline. If you do not make these changes, you will not be able to send e-mail after Jan. 23.
These changes are necessary because Chesnee Communications is launching a new Web platform in January to provide your Internet service. This platform will include a number of new and improved features, including a new e-mail system.
The required changes affect your e-mail software's SMTP authentication. SMTP Authentication is used to help us stop unauthorized users from sending SPAM, viruses and other junk mail. The setup is a simple procedure that you only have to complete once.
Enabling SMTP Authentication
We've developed instructions and screen shots for each of the most common e-mail software explaining exactly how to enable the authentication. The instructions also will ask you to change your username to your full chesnet.net e-mail address.
Simply select the e-mail software that you currently use from the list below. There you will find step-by-step instructions on how to change your e-mail settings.

Netscape
Eudora
Mozilla
(You need an Adobe Reader to open these instruction documents. Click the button to download the reader if necessary.)
If you currently use Chesnee WebMail, the only thing you need to do is make sure you log in using your complete e-mail address as your username. Chesnee WebMail users do not need to make changes to their computer settings.
If you have any questions about making these changes, please contact our Internet Technical Support at 864-461-2200 or (toll free) 888-375-1553.
